Board of Directors Announces Michel Deslauriers to succeed Darrell Hall as Principal of STMC

The Board of Directors of St Thomas More Collegiate is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Michel Deslauriers as Principal of STMC. Michel will succeed Mr Darrell Hall, who announced his retirement from the Principal role earlier this year.

The Board undertook a national search to ensure the best possible candidate was selected for this very important role. It was truly a delight to find a number of high calibre candidates in our own community and to be able to hire an STMC Alumnus and former Faculty Member.

Michel will be returning to STMC from Vancouver College where he currently is Assistant Principal and Head of the Middle School and Co-Campus Minister. Michel is a Knight and a graduate of STMC. He began his career as a teacher at STMC, and held a number of Administrative roles including Vice Principal before moving to Vancouver College 13 years ago. Michel and his wife Michelle have been active in the STMC Community and their children have attended STMC. Michel demonstrates a very strong commitment to his Catholic Faith and to the ideals of a Christian Brother Education in the spirit of Blessed Edmund Rice.

The Board would like to express their extreme gratitude to Mr Darrell Hall for his commitment and leadership over the past decade. Mr Hall has been instrumental in enabling STMC and its students to excel in so many ways. We are also thankful to Mr Hall's family for their support as he worked many evenings and weekends for the benefit of the STMC Community.
