What is the Passport to Education?
The government of British Columbia designed a program to financially reward a limited number of high achieving students in grades 10-12 by giving them credit towards tuition at most post-secondary institutions. The actual number of Passport Awards can fluctuate from year to year and is determined by enrollment and Ministry of Education guidelines. All students' passports are kept in the school office until they finish school, at which time they may be collected.
Grade 10 $250.00
Grade 11 $250.00
Grade 12 $500.00
The student must be a Canadian citizen or a landed immigrant.
The student's GPA is given a mark out of 100.
An additional ten points can be earned if the student is involved in
3 activities during the school year.
No points will be awarded if the student has less than 3 activities.
Therefore the top mark a student can earn is 110 points.
These activities can be completed at STMC or in the greater community.
In order to qualify as a legitimate activity, it must involve a minimum of
25 hours of a student's time.

The form must be submitted by May 31st, 2012.
All completed applications must be turned in directly to the Academic Counselling Office!
The final decision regarding the awarding of the Passport to Education and the legitimacy of any activity rests with the STMC Administration
