Grad Class Activities

Each year a grad committee is formed by the Parents Association to organize a series of activities for the graduating class.  This page is intended to give grade 12 parents an overview of what can be expected for the upcoming 2012 grad season.

The goal is to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for both the students and the parents.  It is imperative that each family participate and volunteer in some way with the various events that are scheduled so that the workload doesn't fall on the shoulders of only a few people.  If everyone helps a little, the workload is that much easier for everyone and that much more enjoyable.

There are six main grad events. The funding for four of these events is the responsibility of the grad committee while the other two events are taken care of by the school and the individual.  Please read over the various events/fundraising activities listed and decide which one (or ones) you wish to be involved in.

DETAILS ON EACH ACTIVITY AND THE EXPECTATIONS OF EACH FAMILY CAN BE FOUND IN THE CLASS OF 2012 GRAD GUIDE - PLEASE CLICK BELOW, DOWNLOAD AND READ IT.

The Grad Fee

For Grad to be a success, approximately $25,000 needs to be raised by the Grad Committee.  A portion of this amount is the “Grad Fee” which is paid by the parents.  There are two fee levels:

  1. $100/student if you would like to fundraise
  2. $200/student if you do NOT wish to fundraise

You can pay by cheque or online with a credit card.  Please make your cheque payable to STMC and have your grad drop it off in the office (Attention: Maureen Wong).  Or click below to pay online securely via PayPal:

Options

Any extra funds raised will be used to:

  • Purchase a parting gift for the Grads (last year grads received a hoodie)
