The Greater Knight Open Golf Tourney will take place on June 2nd, 2012 at the Golden Eagle Golf Club in Pitt Meadows.

Last year through events like the GKO, St. Thomas More Collegiate’s Alumni Association was able to contribute over $14,000.00 to the school.  A large portion of those funds ($5,000.00) went to support our hugely successful More Spirit Campaign which recently reached its preliminary goal of $6.1 million allowing us to break ground on our brand new Athletic and Community Centre this spring.  We were also able to support our highly successful sports teams and hand out $2,400.00 to our graduating seniors through our Knights of Old Scholarship fund.  The current STMC students fully appreciate the support they receive through the generosity of our alumni. We are making a positive difference to their STMC experience. 

This year our goal is to make an even greater contribution to the gym building fund to aid with all of the incidental costs anticipated with the construction of our brand new gym which begins in early May.

The GKO’s value as a fundraiser is immeasurable; however, its greatest value is that it builds community. It represents a chance to meet old friends, swing some clubs and support St. Thomas More Collegiate at the same time. It doesn’t get any better than that. Your continued support, whether it be as a golfer, a prize donor, a hole sponsor or in all three ways, is very much appreciated.
